Mamewah controls filter question
« on: June 10, 2005, 06:04:55 pm »
I am playing around with Mamewah and I created INI files for trackball, spinner, & double joystick games. I went into the filters list such as year, manufacture, controls, ect. I first wanted to setup the trackball games filter so I deselected all the other filters under controls except for trackball. When I reviewed the list of games, I had games that didn't even use a trackball listed. What am I missing here? Do I need to add a special controls.ini file to handle this?
Thanks for your help.

Not sure what is wrong there, the list should generate itself after you come out of the filters submenu.

I'm a bit rusty and I can't think why it wouldn't work...if you could describe exactly what you did I might be able to figure it out...

I am going to play around with this some more. I think what happened is I created a new .ini file for favorites, but just did a copy of another and renamed it. It still had all the games from a previous filter.
Where does Mamewah keep the lists for your favorites? I can't seem to find it anywhere. It would be nice to be able to go in and clear the list or is there an easier way to clear a list in Mamewah for a certain filtered list?

OK I played around with the controls filter in Mamewah and I can't get them to work properly.
When I deselect everything and then go into my controls filter and only select trackball, nothing appears. I then deselect all controls again and then go to list all categories and I only get about 288 games. Then I go an select trackball again and then the games total gets bumped to something like 340 games. So it is obvioulsly finding the trackball games and adding it to the 288 games. I don't know where the 288 games are coming from.
How can I just select the type of control and only list those games?
Thanks for your help.

Not really  ::)

Are you only playing with the input filters?  The jump from 288 - 340 sounds like about hte right no. of trackball games, but as you say where are the 288 from  ???

Try deleting your \files\*.lst files and regenerating.  Sorry, that's all I can suggest...
