For consoles if you create a custom list it will truncate all the junk off the end by default.

What type of list generation method are you using in your MameWAH's mame.ini file? Try one of the others like rom_folder_vs_dat_file.

Alternatively, you can run a rom folder vs. -listxml for after ~.84 mame i believe, otherwise you can run a rom folder vs. -listinfo

I'm having the same thing now because the mamewah config couldn't find the dat file and i had to check "rom only" to get it to keep going forward with the emulator setup.

Where is the dat file usually kept (as i can't have it update via the internet because my cab isn't online)

You generate it like I said in my above post. You be better using the method in the previous post if you didn't understand my post. I'd say the best place for it is in the mame folder but YOU need to generate it!

..for info, I'm using rom folder vs. -listxml with 0.71 without problems.

Ok I'm just going by Screaming's Config, which says pre-84 use listinfo and post.84 use listxml

"-listxml" is a command-line switch for mame. If you using version 0.84 or later you don't need a file. MameWAH will do what it need. Just set you list generation method to rom_folder_vs_listxml (I think that right).

Just curious, R U also using a DAT file (listed in your ini). Kinda a dumb question but I have to ask.

Nope...no Mame.dat file used.   I am pointing to catver.ini...but thats about it over the default settings.

I just started trying to configure mamewah for the first time tonight, using the mameconfig app. I got it to build a gamelist, but when I added a game, it didn't update the list. I couldn't see how to make it do that. Do I have to do that outside of the config app?

What do you mean 'added a game'?  If you just added a rom into your roms folder you need to regenerate the list.

That's exactly what I want to do. My question is that I didn't see how to regen the list from the Mamewah Config app. It's fine if I need to do it manually, but if the config app will do it, then that would be great. :)
