ArcadeVga Help
« on: June 09, 2005, 05:01:18 am »
Hi I am VERY new to this so please bare with me in regards to my ignorance in this area. I recently purchased an "old" jamma arcade cabinet, in which I was hoping to convert to a Mame cabinet. I consequently purchase a J-Pac and ArcadeVga from Ultimarc. Everything "appeared" to be relatively straight forward. I consequently connected the ArcadeVga and J-Pac to my PC, and arcade machine.

After connecting these "plug and play" cards, I turned on the PC and arcade machine to have a test run. I was able to identify my usual boot sequence appearing on the arcade monitor. However there is severe "flicking" taking place. Consequently I can not make out any writing being displayed on the screen, and this continues when Windows98 loads up.

I also tried to remove the 31KHz jumper from the J-Pac and had no success with that.  I also don't seem to notice the SYNC IN or SYNC OK lights ever being on.

I can't see anything on the screen at the moment, to even identify if i have the correct video driver assigned. Anyone know what may be wrong ? or have any ideas of how i can correct this.

I'm sorry if i have posted this on the incorrect location etc.

Thanks very much.

I am not sure what Divemaster is talking about here...
The most common reason for your problem is that the J-PAC has no power, ie the cable to the PS keyboard or USB port is not connected.
