What software to use to identify mame roms?

I am looking for a simple software program or even a way to identify my mame roms.

If you could even tell me how you tell what game a file is for yourself without loading it in mame would be a help too.

www.romcenter.com and www.clrmame.com are both Rom Management type tools.

But it really depends on what you want to do and how your roms are stored. If the roms are Split/Merged (typical) selecting 1 rom may not make the game playable without the parent set.

You could always use http://www.emuchrist.org/mamemerge/
to merge your rom sets and then you don't have the split/merge issue. Or you can check the online database at

http://www.mameworld.net/maws/

to manualy sort your games.

More clarification will get you a definitive answer though.

WinROMIdent is the best for ID'ing what roms go to what games.
And, it's drag-n-drop.
