Yesterday I got to work on the Getaway pin and replaced a socket. So what, you say? It involved removing the old broken socket which had five inch leads, unsoldering the wires from those leads, loosening the staples that held the leads to the playfield, leading the new socket's leads thru the playfield, threading the leads thru the loosened staples, and finally soldering the wires back onto the leads. It didn't take long, but it was interesting.
So far my job has entailed a lot of cleaning of the games that have been pulled off location, testing them for proper voltage, and general detail work.
Remember the arcade I mentioned above? I cleaned all their games yesterday, since we'd pulled them off location, and we brought them all back today. Man, what a pain. Then we cashed out a bar (I can't believe how much those touch jukeboxes take in!), followed by swapping out a pin @ a pizza parlor.
Then a two hour drive north, where we pulled a couple pool tables off location, then drove all the way back to the shop, with a brief stop at a location that was having issues with their pool table. Turned out to be a combination of chalk in the ball troughs and there were three cue balls, for whatever reason.
