ATTN EGYO 27" Monitor owners
« on: December 09, 2002, 02:09:10 am »
I need your help! on the monitor chassis there is a big block  in the corner with a red and white wire coming out near the bottom and 1 red wire coming out up top. The white wire goes to the neck board, the red wire up top goes to the suction cup, where does the other red wire go to?

I was moving my cab and that red wire came off where ever it went. please tell me where to re attach it, pictures would be great but a good description will be just as good.

please reply ASAP either here, private message, e-mail, instant message, whatever you prefer. I really want/need to get this fixed!

thanks in advance,
Malenko

I assume you are talking about the F.B.T. or flyback transformer? That is what would have the wires you describe.  :o MAKE SURE YOUR BOARD IS NOT HOT.  ??? You should also Ground the High Voltage Anode! It is the big wire with the Suction Cup 24,000 volts  :'(. If you don't know what I'm talking about, then stop and READ HOW  ??? I don't have a 27" schematic only a 20" but if you look real close on your neckboard. You will probably see where it broke off. I believe it might be marked G2, but no guarantee if it's marked. You should see where the wire broke off and on the solder side you will the rest of your wire. Just strip it about 1/8", heat up your iron, clean out the broken piece and resolder it in. A little flux should make a nice shiny new solder joint. These get broke all the time from a little to much tugging and pulling. While your irons hot, check the other connections on your neckboard. Neckboards are notorious for cold solder joints.
