XBoX And Hantarex MTC 9000
« on: June 04, 2005, 04:55:52 am »
Hi all :)

Is there anyone else that have a xbox hooked up to a MTC 9000? (I know some of you have them hooked up to newer models)

I have tryed hooking my XBoX to this monitor by connecting my RGB cable (with 100uF caps on RGB) straight to the MTC 9000 RGB. I also took Composit video from the RGB cable and hooked that to the MTC 9000 Vertical Sync. Everything seems to work fine this way, but (There is always a but aint there?

added video amplifier, didnt solve the problem.

Anyone have a layout of how they connected theyr XBoX to a hantarex monitor? From the AVIP to the connector on the monitor.

Any help is appriciated.

Change the 100uf caps for 220uf.  And the composite sync out goes to Horizontal and vertical output goes to vertical.

Thank GOD for the oscilloscope ;) The LM1881N I picked of some other old equipment i made some years ago was broken ;) Thats the reason for the sync not working.

220uF caps didnt do much. I added the video amp i built last night and that solved the brightness problem. I will also try replacing some resistors on the monitor and see if that can bring the brightness up without using the video amp.

We sell a cable which does this.. yes you do need the LM3881 and in general it needs an extra capacitor from the input pin to ground, value 1nF. This is to deal with a level issue which most consoles have, which causes a noisy sync pulse.
I am sure you will need an amp with this monitor. Probably don't need the 220 uF capacitors though.
