So how hard is Ninja Gaiden?
« on: June 02, 2005, 11:39:48 pm »
I've been thinking about picking up Ninja Gaiden for the xbox since so many people say it's so great. But I have also read that its difficulty is unbelievable.

My days of willingly replaying the same scenes and boss battles over and over are pretty much gone. With what leisure time I have, I want to spend it having fun. So.... would I hate this game?

To give you an idea on my skill level- I found the boss battles in Metroid Prime difficult even though I knew how to defeat the boss. Particularly I'm thinking about the one with the giant hook arms, I think he might have been a plant.

Bah, I thought this was about NINJA GAIDEN, the 8 bit nes game, not the crappy new one.

Ninja Gaiden sucks?

Crappy? new one...

Crack pipes were not made to be installed on arcade machines fellas. :P

Ninja Gaiden on Xbox is AWESOME! It is pretty friggin hard though. They are coming out with a new expanded version (Ninja Gaiden Black), that will include an easier setting. You may want to hold out for that one if the difficulty thing scares ya.

I personally found it tough, but not impossible. I honestly think the 8 bit originals were tougher.

I need to pick this game up soon also.  I bea the original Ninja Gaiden on NES without dying.  It was a major accomplishment and up until about 3 years ago I had the entire thing on a VHS tape.  Alas, I have since lost it.

I have tried the demo of NG on the Xbox and it was pretty rough.

Ok...

First of all, you will hear people ---smurfette--- and moan on how hard Ninja Gaiden is and how the camera angles suck........DONT LISTEN TO THEM!

IMHO, Ninja Gaiden has to be one of the best games made for this platform, next to Halo. I bought my box with the intent of modding it and turning it into a  cheap media center.  After I had everything setup and running, I turned my attention to burning games directly to the HDD.

My friend let me borrow his copy of the game and to be completely honest, I couldnt put it down for 2 weeks. Yeah, it was hard, but it wasnt a "thumbs" hard. It is a very challenging game all around. I guarantee you'll love it. I beat it 3 times already, and I'm still playing it. There are a ton of easter eggs througout, and there are things you can AFTER you beat it, that you cant do the first time around.  I think in total, I've spent over 40 hours playing. The game saves your total playtime, along with your progress.

Dude.....get it........

NG on XBOX is a great gameplay experience. I found the challenge level just right (starting out on "Normal" and eventually beating "Very Hard," it gave great replay value). I'm looking forward to the update pack coming to retail this fall (can't get broadband where I live).

Maybe you could sell the cover on eBay and list it as "This game box is so haunted, it changed its own name from Gaiden to Garden..."

You'd make millions......

Haven't played the new ones but the old 8-bit ones rocked. Still haven't beaten the first one, came close though.
I had to beat them to death with their own shoes...
