I gave up online gaming years ago. I have no interest in playing with a bunch of loudmouth, teenage, cheating punks, which is pretty much all you get with online play these days.

my last online experience was with Ultima Online...  I love the concept, but hated the way the game played... and this was after the "hunter/killer" fiasco where players would hunt down n00b players and loot the bodies... I've heard they've since fixed this, but haven't really gotten into anything online since...  If I play anything PC multiplayer related anymore, it's stuff through a LAN that I can control....

Nothing anymore. :'(

After Quake 2 Rocket Arena servers became hard to find, I stopped playing online.  None of the recent games match up to that one.

LAN-wise, it's CounterStrike, Need for Speed Underground, Unreal, Quake 3 & Age of Empires.

Use to play Counterstrike and Diablo I & II but haven't played in a few years.  Now that I think about it, the only games I ever play on my computer anymore are emulators/roms.

Flatout is pretty decent.  Not sure if it is online, I've just been playing the demo.

If you guys want to play together sometime head to the chat room, we can coordinate something.

Right now I've been into UT2k4 and bf1942.
I have Starcraft, Warcraft II, Shogun Total War, UT, UT2k4, Mechwarrior 4 and expansions, flight combat sim wwii euro, quake 1 2 3, MOHAA, soldat, Enemy Territory.

I'm going to pick up turbo sliders and play that online sometime soon.

Would anyone be interested in forming a BYOAC Gaming clan?  I know I would be down for some BF1942, BFV, and Battlefield 2 when it comes out.

I also play just about any FPS.

Luckily I lost my WoW, CoH addictions.

If someone has played Flatout as a multiplayer game, I'd like to hear what you have to say... but you should post it in the software/games review section.
Yeah, I'd be interested in hearing how it plays.

I have yet to find a good racing game (for online play).

Haven't played anything online for years (for the same reason's Stingray listed) but I've been getting into this free online golf sim:

http://www.shot-online.com/

Free cause it's a beta, but still pretty fun.  Touch Japanesy RPG (earn money to buy new clothes, clubs, etc) but the players are pretty nice and it's a good time waster.

After graduating college it became harder to organize LAN parties, because people started to move all over the country, so now some of my college buddies and I have a weekly LAN party each week.  We have a forum where we discuss which games we want to play and every Tuesday night we play the game that the most people wanted to play.  Usually we stick to UT2k4, Quake 3, BF1942 and last night for the first time we played Counter Strike.   Boy do I hate that game...the only way I tollerated playing for 2 hours is that I had one pitcher of beer before the game started and drank another pitcher while playing, the last 20 min of playing is kind of a  blur :).

Yeah we had a great gaming center here in town.  Then two of the owners decided to get "real" jobs and sold their parts to a single guy.  He got mad a lot and then one day closed it.  No explanation to most.  He told me that he was tired of his friends taking advantage of him.  Regardless I wish I had a kick tail gaming center back in the area.

I know this is an old thread, but I did a search and this was the best I could find.  There's no use starting a new thread asking the same question.

What games do you play online?

It's been years since I bought an online game, and I'm getting the itch.

I really liked the original Ghost Recon.  I looked at Best Buy and Rainbow Six Vegas is cheap, and so is Battlefield 2, but they could be cheap for a reason.

What's everyone here playing on their PC?

Yeah, flatout 2 is good with online play.

I play that and Half-Life 2 deathmatch.

Battlefield 2 is a pretty good game and worth picking up if its cheap.  I bought when it first came out, and it was extremely buggy, so I ended up shelving it.  When it did work it was a lot of fun.  The reason it's cheap is because its been out for quite a while and they even have a newer Battlefield game out (Battlefield 2142).

I've mostly been playing beta's lately, which mainly consists of Tabula Rasa and Enemy Territory: Quake Wars.  Both are pretty good games, but since they're also both closed betas, it doesn't help you much.  The only other multiplayer game I still play occasionally is the original Enemy Territory, which is a free multiplayer FPS that is really good, but a little dated.  If you do a search you should find plenty of places to download it.

I just installed The Ship, which I haven't played in about 6 months, and it's still a lot of fun.  A warning though, its not your standard FPS and is definately not for everyone.  It's very slow paced and is more about psychological tactics and knowing the map than good aim.  Basically your on a ship full of people and your supposed to kill one person while another person is trying to kill you, but you can't be seen killing anyone or you'll get thrown in jail.  It tricky trying to follow someone without letting them know your following them, and since you don't know who is hunting you, you're suspicious of anyone near you.  Anyways, I think its a fun game :)   I do have one guest pass which will let someone play for free for a little while, so if anyone is interested, let me know.

Wow.  I haven't played Xpilot in about 12 years or more.  I kinda gave it up and forgot about it because online play was impossible at 9600 baud.
