I have been trying to generate a MAME.DAT file for hours now with no luck.  For some reason MAMEWAH is showing the list as the game filename not the game title -- also half of the game do not work but are listed anyways.  I setup MAMEWAH using MAMEWAH CONFIG 1.6.1 and it used to work with the right games and the right titles.

I'll do anything to get this fixed please help!  I can give you free webspace from skylap.com if you can help me out!

Thanks!

In config, right click the emulator (MAME) and pick generate default game list.  Then select -listxml vs. rom folder.  The end result should be a list that only displays the games you have with the correct names.  If not, try reinstalling MAME and making sure that all your directories are correct.

Thanks for the reply!  I have reloaded mame (win command ver) and typed in start>run "c:\mame\mame.exe -listxml >mame.xml" and the screen pops up and starts going through tons and tons of text then after quite a while it stops.  I searched my computer for "mame.xml" and nothing is found.

Any other suggestions?

I tried your suggestion for "-listxml vs. rom folder" and the list that pops up now shows the full title BUT it is showing all the games from A-Z and I only have from A-M.

PLEASE HELP! thanks

Are you SURE that you have the correct rompaths in both the MAME.ini file and thru the mamewah config?

Yep it's in the folder "c:\mame\roms" but it still brings the full list up. :(

Thanks
Mark

If you have -listxml vs ROM Folder selected as your list-generation method and you're pointing to the correct version of MAME (when the -listxml option existed, post version .84 I think) AND your ROM folder is correct in MAMEWAH Config, then everything should work fine. However, you want to make sure you delete any emulator lists first, as they don't get updated in MAMEWAH Config when you re-generate the default list (In MAMEWAH they do, which I always found annoying).

When I deleted the lists, it won't generate a new one.

Okay.  Do you have teh .Net Framework?  Then check to make sure you have the system files from Minwah's site installed.  Redownload both Mamewah and mamewah config.  then generate the default game list with the rom folder vs. -listxml if your using an after ~MAME. 84 or rom folder vs. listinfo if its a pre ~MAME .84

**the mame .84 may be .82 I cant confirm right now though sorry but its marked in mamewah config**
