Need help finding a certain frontend
« on: December 05, 2002, 09:43:00 pm »
Hi there! I was wondering if there was a frontend out there for like MAME that when you turn on your computer it automatically would start up. So instead of seeing your desktop you would see the program already launched and it would be full screen filling the screen. Also does anyone know the file name of the file that is the Windows picture loader and ender. You know when you turn on your computer if you have like WIN XP it says Windows XP, like that. Please reply. Thanx.

-See Ya!!!

Well, you can put any frontend in your startup folder for windows to have it launch when windows starts.....and I know EmuLoader has a full screen mode, as I'm sure most frontends do.

There are programs, freeware, to change the windows title and shutdown screens...just do a google search.....

Sorry if that seemed not helpful.  You might want to give some more details when asking a question, it might improve the quality of the responses.  For example, you never state what OS you are using, I can guess that since you say the Windows "picture loader and ender" says Windows XP, that is what you are using.  Windows XP handles Startup and Shutdown Logos differently from Win9x - so having that detail is critical.  To be fair, I did not think that XP was different from Win9x in terms of changing these logos when I first replied. My mistake, I was wrong.  I found this out by doing a Google Search.  If you had already done this, you might have referenced that fact in your post....e.g."I've searched everywhere and can't seem to find something for XP".

Regarding your question if there was a frontend that "when you turn on your computer it would automatically start up" - I thought my answer was straightforward regarding the startup folder.  If you truly don't want to see any windows desktop, you might want to consider running DOS and a DOS frontend. Otherwise, my suggestion of Emuloader in full screen mode in the startup folder will work just fine....you may get a short desktop flash, but it should be minimal.
