As far as not running the monitor past its specs the only thing I can think of is that you will want to make sure all your emulators are set to run at 640x480 or 800x600. I take it that the computer does not recognize the type of monitor and its capabilities.
I did that, but I'm still worried about installing a new game, etc... and having it default to 1024x768, or something like that.
Just curious, is that monitor capable of running all of the horizontal frequencies between 31 and 38khz or can it only run at 31 or 38? I was also wondering what the dot pitch was like on that monitor.
I'll have to look at the specs again, when I get home.
Does the monitor look more like an arcade monitor or a high resolution pc monitor?
It IS an arcade monitor, and looks more like that than a PC monitor.
They are the stock monitor in one of the PGA Tour Golf machines, or something like that.
It gets fuzzy near the edges due to the severe deflection necessary for it's size.
I don't know how much it will clean up because I haven't played with anything on the chassis for it yet.
It works great for games out of the box, but small text suffers on it.
Vector stuff is playable, and looks OK, but isn't near the clarity of a PC monitor.
