Windows advmame, what video card to use?

I am trying to get the windows version of advmame to work with my computer but I am having trouble finding a compatible video card.  I have tried a range of ati cards with no success.  I was wondering what cards other people have used to get the svgawin driver to work.
I would like to get a newer card that would also work well with pc games.

I found that the ATI card I had didnt work either. Downgraded to the Nvidia Geforce 2 that I had lying around and now it all works brilliantly. I am running AdvanceMame through windows XP with Mamewah as the front end. Trying to get Advance Menu working, but it isnt yet and Im clueless

So far, the Geforce2 has played all the games that my old 15Khz Arcade Monitor can handle

All of those cards supported.  Or do you mean whether or not you'll have success with low pclocks for 15KHz modes?  In that case, I suggest reading up on easymamecab:
