Great multi-emulator Front End!!
« on: May 18, 2005, 07:13:12 pm »
Hi everyone! I just wanted to let know about a great FE that supports many emulators, you can download a huge premade database of screenshots for different systems. I've working with it the last few weeks, and it is just AWESOME.

Of course this is just my opinion, and I do think that thera are many other great FE's. Try it out for yourself and make your own judgement.

Looks interesting, I'm gonna download and give it a go.

I won't be putting it on my cab though, I think most people here like a front end that doesn't look like windows, but now and again I play something on my desktop computer and something like this would be perfect.

Have just downloaded it and I have to admit it's probably the easiest frontend I've ever setup, I had it up and running a game in mame in less than a minute, I think this might become the frontend of choice for those here that currently use Mame32 and have had trouble setting up other frontends. I'm currently going through all the other emulators, it certainly is quite extensive. Well done.

I am fairly new to the emulation seen, about 1 year.  I started off with MAME32 and have ventured into MAMEWAH.  Thought I would try this out.  It is easy to setup, but does not seem as versitile as MAMEWAH, IMHO.  Guess that since I have learned how to use MAMEWAH I don't feel willing to try something else.

I think this software is actually something this community needs.  There are a TON of people who are on this BBS and don't have cabinets, and there are even more people who DO have cabinets but are having trouble getting a FE to work.  For these people, being able to play/test a game using any emulator and still be in Windows is a wanted feature of a FE.  Just the other day someone asked about something exactly like this for his car.

Having a nice GUI-driven, multiple-emulator, easily-configurable front end that doesn't necessarily hide Windows fills a gap in the front ends that are out there today.

  Great job!

Interesting.
Is there a  list of emulators supported by this anywhere?

I think there is one at FAQ section, but you have to register at the site, but it's free!!   ;D

I have been exploring this FE, and it seems that supports the most popular emulators. Ssupported emulators launch games directly, if you choose to setup a non-suppoerted emulator, as soon as you double click the game's name, it will lauch that emulator and you just have to launch the game from there. Even this might be an extra step, you can use the FE to preview the games screenshots, and as said before it's premade database of shots is HUGE!

I will admit that this FE is a good windows fe. Windows PC only not a cab. My only beef with it is that the creators have snapshot packs available for it and many consoles but they are encrypted for use in their frontend only. So if you were hoping to snag them for others don't bother.
