Need a little arcade monitor advice
« on: December 02, 2002, 12:11:23 pm »
I am in the process of converting one of my old cabinets (N.A.R.C.) to a mame machine. I am wanting to use the monitor in the cabinet but I have a few questions/concerns I hope some of you can answer:

I am first concerned with powering the monitor. Will it continue to use the standard powersupply in the cabinet? And does it need the game board to operate?

The monitor worked well when I got the machine. While doing some fiddling one day with the controllers the whole machine went dead (I must have touched something) Is there a quick and easy way to test the monitor? what about the power supply?

I apologise if these seem trivial but I have been unable to find a comprehensive guide to using an arcade monitor in a mame cabinet. Most everyone just talks about converting the signal scan rate, etc. I am more interested in how to power the monitor at this point. Thanks in advance, -peel

I'd like to know about this too--I have a arcade monitor from the cabinet I bought for my MAME machine.  The game doesn't work, all that shows up is blurred green lines across the screen that gradually get more clear.  I'd like to just try the arcade monitor.  What's the easiest way to find if a monitor works correctly?
