"But the Supreme Court has now overturned the lower courts' rulings, saying the Italian constitution upheld the right to sexuality."

Surely this is the "bone of contention" in the matter??

Their constitution rocks. Is there an illustrated edition?

Probably not, permanent impotence is not solved with a drug.

Sounds like this chick REALLY LOVED him, right?  I mean, she married him, committed her entire life to him, till death do us part... yet she's willing to ditch him after one night because he can't get it up.

She's a skank.

It's a lot more than that.  The guy deliberately mislead her.  He knew that it might be an issue early on and didn't tell her specifically because he knew she might care.  In addition to resigning onself to abstinence or infidelity for the rest of one's life which is a big deal, there is some hardcore disception going on here.

There's nothing abstinence related about impotence.  There are literally dozens of other things that they could do, different things as well as using some items to simulate what he cannot do.  The ONLY thing here that he can't do is create kids, which is not really what that article implied is her problem.

Sure, there is some deception, but one either loves a person or they do not.  Someone who loves a person doesn't ditch them 24 hours after their wedding for something like this.

He used the wedding as a tool to put her in that position.  The fact that he waited until the moment they were married to come clean is not a coincidence.  And if it's as unimportant as you suggest, why did he deceive her?  It seems like he thought it was every bit as important as it apparently was.

Having a successful marriage takes more than love.  It takes all kinds of compatibility that has nothing to do with love.  People cheat on people they love.  People get married and find little things that get under their skin.  Maybe their partner has really poor dental hygein.  Maybe he or she hits the snooze button on the alarm clock 10 times over the course of an hour and a half before actually gettin gout of bed (driving the other person nuts).  Maybe they develop depression or become bipolar.  Maybe one of them has poor finance skills or an addiction to credit card shopping.

You shouldn't just marry the first person you fall in love with.  The vast majority of people who get married love eachother and the vast majority of them intend for the marriage to be permanent at the time.  If intercourse (and honesty) are extremely important to this girl it would be foolish for her to marry this guy simply "because she loves him".

You're romantic....but wrong.

Nope, not wrong, I'm assuming a person who marries someone has already parsed all of those things out.

Actually, I am wrong... most people are too freakin' dumb to parse all of those things out properly, and that's why most people end up divorced.

So, you're right about those things, and I am likely wrong in assuming that either of the two involved has a fully functional brain.

People cheat on people they love.

I find it to be impossible to believe this is true. I just can't see cheating on someone you truly love.

Agreed. My wife and I were together for three years  before we got married. Both of us wanted to make sure that we really were right for each other before we took the BIG step. We'll have been married for ten years next Friday.

Actually, I think it is true... for those people who love themselves more than their spouse.

My wife and I are coming up on our 3 year anniversary in June.  We were living together for three years before tying the knot and seeing eachother for two years before that.

We still have a near-perfect relationship.  I'm hoping that all the demoing will translate into satisfied customers for life.  So far so good.

My wife and I have been together 12 years now... a few months together every day just out of HS, followed by 2.5 years 100 miles apart at separate schools, followed by practically living together for 2 years when I transferred to her school... we experienced pretty much everything you can, and never had any problems with any of them.

What's the average marriage in years?  At the rate of divorce in the U.S. it seems as if we're all WAY over the average, screwing it up for the rest of the group.  I'm working on 8 years, but my wife is enjoying 7 ;D

What's the average marriage in years?

A quick google turns up a general consensus of sevenish years.
