No Sound with DOS and ZSnes 1.42
« on: May 11, 2005, 04:12:02 am »
I'm trying to use ZSnes 1.42 (Jan 19 2005) with dos 7.1 but I have some problems with sound... (same result with dos 7.0)

Test configurations:
PC1:
ASROCK K7VT6 (VIA KT600 + VT8237) with AC97 integrated sound -Disabled from BIOS-
AthlonXP 2600+ (333MHz)
256Mb RAM DDR333
40Gb Maxtor HD
Riva TNT2 16Mb
Sound Blaster 128 PCI

PC2:
HP Brio BA410
P3 733
HD10Gb
RAM 256 PC133
Video card on board
Sound Blaster 128 PCI

CONFIG.SYS:
DEVICE=C:\DOS\SETVER.EXE
device=c:\DOS\himem.sys
DEVICE=C:\DOS\EMM386.EXE NOEMS NOVCPI
files=50
DOS=HIGH,UMB

AUTOEXEC.BAT:
SET BLASTER=A220 I7 D1 H7 P330 T6
SET SBPCI=C:\DOSDRV
C:\DOSDRV\SBLOAD
C:\DOSDRV\SBINIT
path=c:\DOS
doskey
prompt $d$_$t$_$p$g
SMARTDRV /x

Those configurations works perfectly with Mame, Mess, Kgen98 and Genecyst.

Zsnes runs ok, but there's no sound at all (I've tryed many roms like final fight 2/3, Demon's Crest, Act Raiser 2, ecc...).

In the gui configuration window I have checked "Enable sound", "Stereo sound" and "44100Hz".
I've tryed also old versions of zsnes with the same result...

Can anyone help me with this problem? Am I missing something?
