Wow, that's about as clever as the proof for 2 = 1:

let a = b
=> a.a = b.a
=> a^2 = ab
=> a^2 + (a^2 - 2ab) = ab + (a^2 - 2ab)
=> 2(a^2 - ab) = 1(a^2 - ab)
=> 2 = 1
QED.

Now, where's the nearest Zebra Crossing? :)

  Yeah, not so much :P

  Since when can you prove ANYTHING when dividing by 0, besides snake oil cures PMS?

Hey, you're not just supposed to *tell* people how the proof works, that's why it's called Mathemagics right?!?

Let x = 0.999999...
=> 10x = 9.999999....
=> 10x = 9 + 0.99999....
=> 10x = 9 + x
=> 9x = 9
=> x = 1!
=> R = Q

I ended up with a grey aardvark in Cambodia (my thinking process is shot today).

Edit: looking back on it, I think the term "subtract by the original #" threw me off. Who subtracts by anything? Thats like saying 'it's a quarter of four' instead of 'it's a quarter to four'.

pick a number...  a

multiply by 2, add 8,  div 2, - itself...

=(2a + 8) / 2 - a
= a+4-a
= 4

but I am thinking brown eagle in Denmark.
not grey elephant....

I guess this is not good enough.
Another Brilliant mind ruined by education....  :p

I'm surprised at the number of people willing to admit they got the math wrong. :)

And maths is Cool! It's noticing things like hyiu getting caught by the "commenting pointer" that's nerdy... ;D
