one part the fuhrer one part the pope.
« on: May 09, 2005, 09:29:08 pm »
its the inevitable return of the great white dope. ;D

Whats up all? Just felt like dropping by. DaveMMR and I had a chat and he made me feel nostalgic enough to come back for a few days.

oh, a little about me lately? ummm I have given up every mindaltering substance (except for caffeine... that comes near the end of the month). I am still the loveable old <auto-censored> I was, but I am a lot different now than I was in real life. nothing you guys might find noticable, in other words. anything new with you?

EDIT: Btw, sorry for being such a pill before.

Well, Floyd, the easiest way to tell you are missed is by the tongue-in-cheek joke style. Seriously, if no one cared, no one would post. Instead, you have people taking the time to post pictures and crack jokes.

If you are not interesting and funny, you are just another person on the board. Take the comments as compliments, which they are.

If a chicken and a half lays an egg and a half in a day and a half, how long would it take a southbound train to travel half the distance of the total length of every twinkie ever produced layed end to end?

-S

What model train is this?  Is it travelling full speed, or does it slowly accellerate.  Does it maintain an exact rate or does it have variables.  Are you applying this to real life where there's wind, traffic, etc?

well the answer to the train question is eleventy(pi).

The actual aswer is "perhaps, but only if the density of the jello is closer to the number of clowns it takes to lift a 50x50 meter block of cheese three inches off the ground", but the judges are willing to give you partial credit.

The fuhrer doesn't necessarily have to refer to Hitler.  And even if it does don't be so sensitive.  The line "one part the fuhrer one part the pope" is too vague to even mean anything.  He didn't say, "Catholics are like mass murderers."  He didn't say, "Hitler was great, what's up with all those Jews anyway?"

Hitler was horrible, but lets not start treating him like Lord Voldemort  (he who must not be named, for those who have somehow avoided being exposed to Harry Potter)

the fuhrer is a leader (used commonly in nazi germany), sorta like a commandant or such, but is usually refered to as hitler.

yeah Im ripping off the bloodhound gangs the inevitable return of the great white dope. No disrespect intended. (for now o.O)

Fuhrer, as Floyd said, means, literally, "leader".  It was a word tainted by Hitler but in context does not imply him specifically.  But then again I'm not the type of person that reads into every single sentence looking for a reason to blow the whistle for a minor PC infraction.  We, as a country, should probably stop doing that.  Hollywood Squares would be a whole lot funnier that way.

Welcome back Floyd - and thanks for mentioning my name.  I always wish I could have thought of a better handle like "SaladFist76" or "PrettyToes99" but this is what I'm stuck with and I'm going to have to live with it.

Nonetheless , it's still quite disrespectful ... no matter the origin.
Just out of curiosity, I'm having difficulty deciding upon the context of this statement. Are you reminding us that we should posses a healthy respect for the capacities of an individual capable of leading the transformation of a devastated country into an international juggernaut? Or are you suggesting an individual's achievements are completely pointless if they are lacking with regards to equality and respect for human 'rights'? Seriously, your capitalisation of "Him" has got me fascinated...   ???

And the train never arrives if it falls off the tracks because some punk parked a delorean on the rails over Eastwood Ravine!  :P

I hate when words are autocensored, but not replaced by brackets letting people know they were.  My guess is that Sephroth's post said something that rhymes with "attention door" but replacing door with a word that begins with a "wh".

Oh yeah...and that's pretty hilarious about the capitalization of the word Him in the PC Police post of General Zod's.  I assumed that he meant that Floyd should have some respect for Jews and their sympathisers.  Apparently Zod is a big Hitler fan -- perhaps considers him a god, even.

All auto-censored words are replaced with brackets stating so.

And the train never arrives if it falls off the tracks because some punk parked a delorean on the rails over Eastwood Ravine!  :P

I must reluctantly admit that I had not considered that particular variable.

Hm. It should replace it with "<auto-censored>" -- that's how the auto-censor is configured. Lessee....

Yep, something's broken. There's a function in the board to test the censor, and when you run bad words in the test it replaces them with <auto-censored> but on the actual forums it doesnn't. Changing auto-censor to use ---auto-censored--- instead of brackets.

Interestingly enough -- the bad words are not removed from the post. The auto-filter replacement is put in on the fly. I removed whore from the auto-filter, and now it's showing up in everyone's post that used it.

By the way, be nice to each other :)

No, his parents do.  What would he have used as a down payment?  Some stolen cough medicine and sweat socks? ;D

He's a whippersnapper living at home still.  Mebbe these "changes" he's speaking of will someday manifest themself in a bold and public way.  Watch your local news for pics of him....he's on here somewhere, look for that kid.
