Daphne & Dragon's Lair repro scoreboard problems
« on: May 07, 2005, 12:33:19 pm »
Hello,

I have been having problems with my Dragon's Lair repro scoreboard for a while now and since they just released a newer version of Daphne with a parallel I/O controller built in for Win XP I thought I would try it out again.

I'm using Win XP with Daphne version 0.99.6c with a repro scoreboard and a parallel port cable plugged into LPT1.

Everything works and plays just fine with Dragon's Lair (us enhancement vers 1.1L & 2.0) and Space Ace (enhancement 1.0).  My problems start when I change the setting in Daphne Loader from scorboard mode MPEG VIDEO OVERLAY to EXTERNAL LPT1.  Then after I start the program under Dragon's Lair it ask for me to parse the video and then crashes and displays an error message that does not say much.  I will post my error log below.

Just seems to stop after loading roms?

My repro scoreboard is lit up with a couple of what I assume are random characters in certain area's.

anyone have any suggestions, do I need to put those .dll files in the system32 directory. any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

UPDATE:
I just tried Space Ace (enchancement 1.0) and the scoreboard works fine (I thought I had tried space ace with the newer version of daphne but I guess I forgot  :-\).  So at least now I know it is not he repro scoreboard or the parallel port or cable.  I will post my error log below of everything working fine.

I also posted this message in the Daphne forums and they helped me track down my problem

I'm posting my solution here also just in case someone else has the same problem.

All I really needed to do was redo my Dragons Lair using my 20th anniversary disc.  I used DVD2DAPH on Dragons lair and then parsed the files and after that, the repro scoreboard started working.

I guess my files got corrupted somehow.
