Super Small Monitors
« on: May 06, 2005, 04:26:42 pm »
Anyone know where I can find a really small CRT monitor, cheap.

I'm actually looking for ones even smaller than 15".  Any Ideas?

Thanks!

I've got a 5".

Is that small enough?

I picked up several 9-10" SVGAs last year to use in bartop vertical projects.

(1) I got from trading a larger monitor with someone here on the board.

The others I found on ebay which ran me $40-50 after shipping.

One suggestion is to look for "Point of Sale" or POS equipment monitors in addition to computer parts as this is the environment  these small monitors are typically used within, ie: retail stores, banks, etc.

Like from this guy....

You can find 13" monitors on Ebay. Some arcade machines use 13" standard res monitors, and some poker games use 13" SVGA monitors. They're all set to go with the proper mounts, too. And they're usually pretty cheap because nobody has a need for them.

watch out for those POS monitors though. Some of them don't run on standard VGA and require a special video card.

Yeah POS monitors can be funky.

What resolution are you looking for? Standard? VGA? SVGA? XGA?
