I took the calc AP and got a 4. It was teh simpleness.

I took the american lit/english one.  I got a 3. It didn't count as credit, but man, it was nice to get out of writing in college. As for 5 hours, put it in perspective - Doctors and Lawyers take 12 hour tests, or something ridiculous like that.

My calc teacher in HS was awesome, but no matter what I did he wouldn't give me an A.  I always got a B.  So when I got a 5 on the calc AB AP exam, I gave him a little "Take that!" attitude.  It was definitely worth it though, because it got me out of taking 2 college calc courses and ended up with 10 calc credits before I stepped onto campus.  I also got a 3 on the chem AP exam, but that was only good for 3 science elective credits.  But those 13 credits kept me ahead of most freshman, so I was able to register for classes earlier and no classes were full.

I'm going to take the LSAT (Law School Admission Test) on June 6th.  It's 5 hours.  I've taken a few practice tests (actual previously administered LSATs).  My brain always hurts by the time I'm finished.  And they are physically exhausting which might seem unexpected.  Stamina is of critical importance.

I think I'll do well.  My goal is to get at least a 175, but I still have a long way to go preparation-wise in the next month to score that high.  I'm capable of it if I work hard, though.  And the incentives are pretty high since that would probably make me a presumptive in at any law school in America.  We'll see.  Pretty nerve-racking.

Yea my sister took the LSATs, I fogot what she scored but it got her into Yale so Ive got a tough act to follow but according to her it was nerve-racking but at the same time if you prep well enough and long enough you'll go in and do fine as you're used to the conditions.

I actually passed up the AP tests in favor of advanced credit exams from the University I attended... easier, more specific.

Man, I miss the days of AP exams.  They were easy then, and they'd be so relaxingly easy now.  Ah, memories.

My high school offered a lot of AP courses which I took advantage of.  I did the following tests:

Chemistry
Biology
Environmental Science
Physics C
Calc BC
Computer Science AB
English Language
English Literature
Spanish
Microeconomics
Macroeconomics

I got a 5 on every test except English and Spanish where I got 4s.

The tests are HARD and I did study quite a bit for each one.  But, they are graded on a curve, so it is not too hard to get a passing grade of 3.  However, most "good" colleges will not give you any credit for a 3.  I'd recommend taking as many as possible.  They are really good preperation for college exams.

The college credit is also nice to have.  I came as a freshman (actually a junior) with a rediculous amount of credit.  I was able to get my undergrad in 3 years.  Alternatively, you can take some lighter 12 credit semesters because of AP credit.  To graduate in three years, I still had to take 18 credits a semester.  This is because my school treated AP credit as generic credit.  So I still had to fulfill all of the engineering general requirements and my degree requirements which were around 100 credits.

More recently I took the GREs. They are like the SATs on steroids. They were about 5 hours long and a pleasant experience. You take them on a computer, which is really nice, especially for the essay section. On the math, you have to get a perfect -- it is easy and everyone in engineering does. The english portion was rather deadly though. The vocabulary is crazy.
Holy crap!  11 AP tests...and I thought 5 or 6 is gonna be deadly.  For spanish though, the genreal consensus is about 6-8 years gets you enough prep work for the 5.  As for studying, I also did a ton for these two, shows me next year I gotta start studying even earlier... >:( less time for the cabinet now

Nothing like a thread about tests you took 20 years ago, coupled with the arrival of invitations to 20th year reunions to make a guy feel old ... time to put on some Nitzer Ebb and play some Lethal Enforcers ...

Good luck to those of you writing.

Cheers.

I started taking AP classes as a sophmore, so that's why I was able to take so many.

Yea at my school you can't start APs until Junior year, and the f****** administration won't let you drop lunches to add courses either frosh or soph years. this year a bunch of us got together and wrote letters, so they agreed buth then they dropped most of the excess APs except for traditional stuff because of budget cuts so our courses got cut.  also, most APs conflict so its rare you can take more than 3-4 senior year  >:(
