When upgrading to MAMEwah 1.61, now all games are listed as preliminary status for color and sound.  I am using rom_folder_vs._listxml as the gamelist option.  I have tried many things, but can't figure this one out.  Anyone have any ideas?  Any help would be greatly appreciated as I dont know what to try next.

I answered this in the MAMEWAH forums, but for anyone else that's experiencing this I'll post my solution here to:

It looks like the MAME PTB (powers that be) changed xml2info.exe a little bit to include some elements that have been in the -listxml output but not in the -listinfo output (specifically related to this issue is the addition of the 'emulation' element in the 'driver ()' line which throws the tokens MAMEWAH is looking for off by 2).  Since this changed the format of the info file that MAMEWAH expects, MAMEWAH isn't coming up with the correct info.

Put this version of xml2info.exe from MAME .88 in your MAME .95 folder and re-run the List Generation in MAMEWAH.
