Advance Mame Video Menu
« on: April 29, 2005, 02:03:19 am »
When playing a game in Advmame, if I click the Tab key, and open the video modes menu, I get a list that looks something like this:

Auto
224s  1.0
224s  1.0
224s  1.0
228s  1.0
etc

In other words, it only shows me the Height for each video mode. I noticed a screen shot on the Purple Mame web site (here http://members.cox.net/mame1/images/advm2.gif) that shows both Width and Height in the Advmame video mode menu.

Anybody know how to make both width and height show up (like the image on the Purple Mame site)?

Only the height shows because:

1) That's actually the correct way to refer to resolutions.  Modes are calculated by number of lines.  If you want a technical explanation, read this start to finish:

http://easymamecab.mameworld.net/html/monitor1.htm

2) That screenshot shows a VERY old version of AdvanceMAME.  The new versions only show the number of lines, and not pixel resolution.

Not sure but I think it might be that the horizontal resolutions isn't displayed when you use SDL.
