20" Toshiba TV with S-Video and Component !!
« on: November 25, 2002, 04:02:16 pm »
After receiving my new (free  ;D) Toshiba 20AF42, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that it included S-Video *and* component video input. So I promptly connected my Dreamcast runing MAMED through S-Video, expecting the quality to be lower than my Sony 36". Surprisingly, the quality of the image (Pacman, Superpacman, my reference games) in the Toshiba was better than the Sony: graphics looked bright and crisp withot being blocky. There was only a small bleeding on the reds, but games looked a lot like the arcade (I went to a place that has Super Pacman and Galaga/MsPacman to compare). I can't wait to test the component input; if S-video quality is any indication, component input should make the games look identical to the originals.

Looks pretty sweet for the price.  Only thing not to like on it is the flat screen display--not "arcade" enough for me.
