I made this cabinet last year, though I'm (of course) constantly tweaking it. I did my actual website design last year, but finally got around to putting some content in.

http://www.thepriebes.com/superarcade

I'd like to start a repro Superman cabinet from scratch sometime within the next year as my next project.

Let me know what you think! I'm especially wanting to know if I left out any key info about the cabinet on the site.

Mostly for the SNES emulator. That one uses all the buttons. The buttons also allow me to use all the savestates in the NES emulator. That, and I can play games like Duke Nukem 3D pretty easily.

A lot more buttons than most 2P machines, I know. If/When I make a new MAME cab, I'll likely put a lot less buttons on there.

Good to see another fan of good old Big Blue.  I'm in the process of doing a Superman themed cab as well.  Nothing to show for it yet, but its definitely there.  ;)

Nice job and good luck on the next one!

I probably do want them, Mark, but I'm not sure what EPS stands for.  ???

Here's a pic of the machine, for those who don't want to surf over to the website. I need to get a better pic. Maybe I can take another picture tonight.

And yes, that's me. That was a posed picture for a website I run. Here's the Photoshopped (I actually used PSP) image:

It's used here: http://www.cactusjacksokc.com/parties/index.html

EPS is Encapsulated Postscript.  It is a file format that keeps the Vector information of the objects it contains.  I can convert to .jpg or .tiff if you tell me what size and resolution you need.

Cab design is great.  Did you model it after a Centipede Cabinet?

I did, indeed. Actually, I followed a link posted somewhere here in these forums and used their measurements for Centipede. I may have strayed slightly on the width so it would fit in my office. Can't remember for sure.

I will definitely be getting back with you on Supes' logo. I'll need it in JPG, but I'll have to check with the guy who is going to print the new marquee for me to see how he wants it.

Awesome cab and especially marquee, BTW.  :o

Thanks.  I have always loved the lines of the Centipede cab, so I am in love with yours.

Just thought I'd let you guys know that I'm finally working on a new marquee. Still going with that classic look.

Mark, those S symbols were great, but I decided to go with a big scan of Superman's chest instead. I used a drawing of big Blue from the 60's, I believe.

I'll have to post a pic sometime in the next few days. I already took it to my photographer friend's house to print it out. Unfortunately, we discovered something wrong with his printer. It won't print red! He's working on fixing it.

I hope he gets it working this week! Now that I'm this close to a decent marquee, I've gotten impatient.  ;D

Well, the marquee finally printed. However, my original marquee was just put on with full-sheet sticker pages on the front of the plexi, which allowed me to use velcro to "hinge" the marquee and access the speaker volume directly behind that.

Well, I tried to set that up with the new one, but because of various engineering realities, it didn't work. I will probably have to buy a couple of marquee retainers. What's the cheap alternative to actual retainers?

BTW, I also added a USB steering wheel this weekend. It was on clearance at Wal Mart for only $25. Nice deal! Is there a list of driving games out there somewhere? I'm also interested in any good PC games that could use a steering wheel, free or not.
