20" LCD monitor
« on: April 22, 2005, 10:51:03 pm »
Dell is selling 20" widescreen LCD monitors for $486 model# 2005fpw
Does this seem like a good deal?  Anyone have cheaper sources of LCD monitors?  Wasn't there a thread similar to this about a 24" monitor?

I am about ready to buy this one.

Keep in mind that lightguns wont work on this.  If you want a large computer monitor I would go for the Happs 27" Vision Pro.  Much larger and for about the same price.

No...that price is fantastic for one of the best LCDs on the market.  If you are in the market.  I've got the 2001fp which is similar, but is not widescreen and I think mine has a 16ms response time while that one has a 12 (lower is better).  Mine was one of the first LCDs with a fast enough response time for games.  It is a wonderful monitor.

Jump on that deal  (unfortunately a couple of days ago you could have got it for less than $400.  At the very least jump on EBAY and do a search for "Dell Big Bucks".  You can buy a $30 off $300 coupon code for $3.  I did it two days ago to buy a Dell Axim for my wife's graduation present.

I have the Dell 2005FPW (20.1" widescreen) and $486 is a pretty good deal. It was down to $387 last week though. If you're not in a rush, my suggestion would be to wait a bit and see if it comes down more. Dell has practically weekly coupons dropping the price on these things.
