What's my next step to check if this monitor works?

It's a Pentranic model #1125 that I got along with a cabinet for $1.  Before I fry myself or my computer, I figured someone would be able to point me in the right direction.

On the circuit board, I can see connections for contrast, v-size, h-size, etc but I don't see any connetction for R, G, or B.  Plus the connections have extensions on them so I think it would be pretty easy to hack a VGA into it (you can see in the pics I attached).  Can I just clip one end of my VGA cable and connect the wires to the circuit board?  Where do I go with RBG?  If I turn on the computer at that point, will I be able to see a picture on the arcade monitor?  I just want to see if this monitor can even display a picture before I start planning any further so I appreciate any help that I can get from you guys.

Also, it looks like someone did some of their own work on the neck.  Some glue to hold it together or something.  Any major worries about this?  Thanks for any help!!

The glue is normal, it's from the factory that way.

DO NOT hook up a straight vga signal to the monitor, unless you have a way to make sure you have it at 15k (I.e. arcadevga card) or a jpac.

The video and sync input connector is the white connector in the far lower left of the first picture of the main monitor circuit board.

Thanks for the advice so far.  Since I still don't even know if this monitor works yet, is there any inexpensive ways to make sure that the vga signal is at 15kHz?  What would happen if I just sent the vga signal to the monitor only to see if I can get a picture (then bought an arcadevga card once I know if it works)?

It could range from nothing at all (I actually have a monitor like that, it just doesn't display a picture at all) to blowing the monitor.

Where do you live?  It's possible someone on the boards could test it for you.

Do get a idea of if it works, just turn it on and turn up the screen control on the flyback. No input required.


If you get raster, odds are that the monitor is working.

(And you will also be able to judge the burnin.)
