Sound Problem in MAME
« on: April 20, 2005, 09:56:49 pm »
When I play any game in MAME it always seems to have a sound problem. I remember in Project Arcade it saying something about the computer having SoundBlaster or it would the sound would not work properly. I have a Dell Inspiron 300M, only about a year old laptop. Is it possible I don't have SoundBlaster (What is that, anyway?). Or is it the ROM I'm using is corrupt?

Could be anything, you'll need to be a little more specific.
What exactly is your sound problem? Are you only having problems with sound from a few games? If so, which work and which don't. Are you running Mame from DOS, Windows or Linux? What version of Mame are you using (ie. Mame 095 or Mame32 0.92 etc.)
Also, what processor does the laptop have?
