Gmes you didn't think you liked
« on: April 19, 2005, 04:32:06 pm »
I never played fighters in the arcade. I was more an old school classics + puzzle games. I always felt the fighters had too large a learning curve to be fun.

But I just started playing Mortal Kombat and am really jazzed about it. Combinations and strategy from FAQs take a lot of the frustration out of it for me.

So did anyone else discover that they liked certain games/genres that they formerly disliked? If so, what and why?

And does a discussion of games belong in everything else or is this place just for discussing religion, politics, and paint thinner powered cars?

You didn't get the messge? The Pope want less use of the letter "a".

I wasn't really looking for game suggestions per se, more interested in discussing games that people didn't enjoy in arcades, but like now.

I hated Mortal Kombat in the arcade, but enjoy it now.
Acceptance of Zen philosophy is marred slightly by the nagging thought that if all things are interconnected, then all things must be in some way involved with Pauly Shore.

Oh, I also used to enjoy Donkey Kong, but I hate it now. Super Mario Bros, Super Mario 3, and Super Mario World raised the bar so high on that same basic game that the original looks and feels terrible by comparison.

Had Nintendo released Super Mario Bros. instead of Donkey Kong, and then released Donkey Kong later then Donkey Kong would be worthless and unplayed today.

Anyone played 'Wall Street' ?

That is crap. What is the point in that game?
I love the life I lead. I wish I could afford it.
