I tried the software for fun and I have a few questions.

How come there is no option for a 3" trackball?

Do the ultimate joysticks have the same mounting holes as the other happs sticks?

These are 2 things that would keep me from ordering.

Where was this when I bought my UAII kit?  :)

I have already received NUMEROUS requests to add additional controls...which I have already planned.  The original release of the program contains the most commonly used controls on a 2-player control panel.  Keep checking the www.mameroom.com website for updates to the control panel program.

As far as the mounting of the Ultimate joysticks, I'm not sure if the mounting is the same as other happ sticks.  I'll check into this....or if I take too long, you can simply go to the www.happcontrols.com website and view the mounting/exploded views on their site to compare.

Ineed this is very slick.  I am just in the beginning stages of building my UAII cab that I purchased from you guys too.

I would imagine that the default dimensions for this CP should just be able to drop right into the UAII design?

This will save me a lot of time!

Keep up the great work!

Another suggestion would be to have preset designs so the we would know that the semitry was dead on with sticks before we began to customize.

I hope I'm not coming of as critical, I think this is incredible as it is.  I'm  just tring to offer suggestions.

Elfman, the control panel kit designer create a control panel kit designed to drop right onto the UAII cabinet.

monkeybomb, I have included the "standard" 2-player layout with the latest setup program.  There is also a thread on the www.mameroom.com message board with a bunch of people's customized layouts.

Thanks for all the feedback.  If anyone wants to see specific controls in the program, please let me know.

I like the program a lot and I realize that it is for a specific product you are trying to sell but I do think it would be nice if you could make panels with it that are larger then the predefined size that it works with.  It is a slick program though and probably the nicest one I have seen yet for this purpose.

Thanks again for the feedback.  We did release it as quickly as possible geared towards offering customized panels, but there will be many new enhancements to the program.. including the ability to specify any (within reason) size top panel.   I also am considering adding 3D rendering capabilities to the program, so you can see a virtual model of the finished panel.

We were originally looking for someone else to create a front end for us:

http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,33685.0.html

...but I decided to just create a stand alone program to be used as freeware as well.  Now it's just a matter of finding time for updates/improvements.

I have added a 3" happs trackball to the program.  I also added graphics that show the underlying joystick base and push button plastic nut for more accurate spacing.
