Best settings for TV?
« on: April 11, 2005, 12:57:18 pm »
I'm sure this is a complete newbie question, but I've done a few searches and haven't found anything that has really helped me out.

I've just changed from a PC monitor to a 27" tv for my cab and I was wondering if anyone had suggestions as to which settings in MAME.INI give the best image quality on a TV screen?

I did discover that turning off HWstretch gives a sharper image, but when disabled, I can't get the image to fill the screen anymore. Any way to get around this?

Are there any particular effects or settings that people particularly prefer in a TV set-up?

Many thanks in advance.

I've set my Aspect Ratio to 23:21.  This fills the screen more.

also, i know it sux but, set your desktop resolution and all of your emulators to 640x480. It will make things much easier to read.

AdvanceMAME is a good option for TV users seeking better output modes.
