I am using mamewah, with mame, a nes emulator, atari emulator, snes, genesis & n64 emulators also. When using mame I can press escape and it brings me back to mamewah, is there a way (through mamewah or elsewhere) to allow me to exit any and all of these emulators back to mamewah with just 1 button (preferably esc for all of them)?

Biggest reason is once I build my Cabinet this will be critical.

Thanks!

You can find wrappers or modified versions of most emulators that will exit on ESC press. Or else, with some of them, you can configure the key to exit.

Cool thanks, I'll give that a try.

Also, I'm having a hell of a time setting up my screenshots. I have all the files I need, with mame and nes being ".png" files and Sega and SNES being just 1 ".rar" file each...but I cannot get Mamewah to recognize these when i am scrolling over the games? Any idea why this might be (IE what might a typical newbie mistake be)?

Thanks again!

Those issues and the fact that I can't get my NES, Genesis, SNES and Atari games to have their actual game names instead of file names. But getting there. I once couldn't even get a game to showup on mamewah, now they're there and playable! :)

The screenshots need to be unzipped and exactly matching names to their respective games.

They are unzipped. Most are numerous ".png" files but some are just 1 ".rar" file? I am supposed to link the folder they're in with 'artwork' on Mamewah? And by exact name "asteroids.bin" = "asteroids.png" right?

A rar IS a zip file. You need to use WinRar to unzip then, Yes, asteroids123.bin would equal asteroind123.png

You could always make a button that press both alt and f4 at the same time.

what does alt and f4 do?

Its a system call to kill a program, works on everything. Since mamewah is a separate program from the emulators it should not cause any problems.  You could just set an extra button as f4 and wire alt and f4 to one button (you help me solve my own problem, thanks ;)).  No extra config or digging needed, who needs escape anyway!

Edit: You'll still need escape for programs that use escape as a "back" button

Okay, THAT is what I've been looking for!!!! :)

Now, if only you could help me get my screenshots to work! lol (problem is they're in the folder I want, the folder I am calling out for in the artwork section of that mamewah setup program, in ".png" format, with the same exact name as the programs...and still does not work!?).

Okay, I think I finally have the screenshots working! The one thing about Mamewah that I was unaware of, is that you have to unload and then reload an emulator completely if you make any changes to it for it to take effect (at least using the config program that is). But, everything is good now! :)

Don't forget to regenerate your game list too.  That will refresh your list and look for any associated images.

In MameWah, press '1', select 'Game List Options' then select 'Generate Game list'.  This may take a bit depending on how many ROMs and pics you have.
