Missle Command - Scrolls - Too Big For Monitor
« on: April 08, 2005, 12:57:18 am »
Hey guys.. I'm running MAme on my television.  Most games look fine.. but, Missle Command has an issue.

The game screen doesn't fit on my TV screen..  I am using the trackball to play the game.. but the trackball also scrolls the screen while I play.    It's about 20% bigger than the actual TV screen.

Very odd.

I'm running windows and mamewah at 800x600

Most games don't have this problem.

Can anyone offer up a suggestion?  thanks guys!

A TV can't display 800x600 so the video driver creates a panned display.

Use a resolution with 480 (NTSC) or 576 (PAL) lines.

try forcing a resolution and turning hwstretching on and see if it fixes it.  You will get a speed hit, but will tell you if the video card is stretching wrong... or the resolution mame is the problem.

Set MAME to run at 800x600 in the ini file.  This will force all games to fit.

Will this force games that use to run at 320x (whatever) to run at 800x600?  Is this the most ideal way to run this?  I'm thinking I'd be taking quite a speed hit.
