You can make fun of the song/video if you want, but the guy is donating all of the proceeds to the USO or widows/children of firefighters killed on the job, and he's leaving the choice of charity up to the purchaser.

If this thing is an absolute failure, I bet he's still a better person then all the turds who  are goofing on him for trying to do something noble.

As far as whether or not he's a 'better person' than the people on BYOAC, well, I don't see him spending hours and hours of his life, every single day of his life, providing help and tips to others for absolutely no monetary compensation.   

I don't see MrCurmudgeon doing that, either. He mostly posts America hating BS in this forum. Of his 1000+ posts, only a tiny portion of the recent stuff is even remotely related to games. The rest is inflammatory political idiocy. If you find any of the backasswards "information" he posts helpful, I'm amazed.

Even if this thing is an absolute success, it still doesn't make it any less of a turd. He could have made a far more noble video had he refrained from having spirits fly in and out of his denim-clad Christ-like body. 

I think people find the video hilarious for it's overabundance of pretension and hokey nationalism. That, and it's just plain bad. I don't think it's anything personal against Mr. Dennis Madalone. I, for one, love his work in Star Trek.

Well, given that I have never criticized the content of his posts, nor have I desired to consider him someone who "hates America" simply because he has a different opinion that I do...I leave that call up to the readers.

I don't think I'm personally better than anyone, without knowing them or their actions in life. As far as my virtual existence on the BYOAC forum goes, I do, however, like to think some of my arguments are better than the arguments of others, from time to time.

Well, I have to hand it to ya, you have a good sense of humor. Putting me in the political spectrum would be a difficult proposition. I'm pro gun, but I'd rather someone have an abortion than bring an unwanted kid into the world that will grow up to be yet another welfare screw-up. Basically, I just want to be left alone. If I want to smoke, drive without a seatbelt, listen to devil music while watching porn, whatever. I just want to be free to decide. No party is cool with that, so I have to side with the party that screws me the least.

I didn't mean to trample your free speech rights, it just struck me as very hypocritical to rip someone down who is trying to do good. This would irritate me no matter who wrote it, but the Al Quaida stuff piled on top of it. It's tasteless.

I don't care whether the guy had "good" intentions.  The video he made is tasteless and promotes just the kind of nationalism that supports a president going into a war like Iraq or creates suicide pilots that fly planes into buildings. 

And the music and the video and the guy's hair and teeth are just awful.  I'm not going to sheepishly bite my tongue when someone does something bad just because he truly believes that it was good.
