Virtua Cop2 & Lightgun
« on: April 06, 2005, 04:08:32 pm »
I have Virtua Cop2 working on my XP based arcade system. I can control the gun with the trackerball, and would therefore expect it to work with my Act-Lab light gun, but for some reason it doesn't.

Have no problem with House of the Dead 2 which works a treat.

Can any one advise.

Can anyone advise if any emulators other than MAME also support the light gun. Kaga (which is great) has a tickbox for lightgun, but the readme appears to suggest no implemented yet.

Any help would be appreciated as we have a lot of fun with the lightgun, and it is a great feature of the cabinet. - Thanks

Try a link to this page:-

http://thetroubleshooter.home.mindspring.com/index.htm

I have never tried it but apparently it is a compatibility fix for Virtua Cop 2.

Let me know if it works as I might well purchase the game.

Next question is how do I make it control panel friendly. Alt F4 to exit is no good to anyone without a full keyboard!.

You could do it with a keyboard macro program.

Any anyone set this up with mamewah? I was thinking of using a macro, but I'd has to map it to the escape key (ipac 1p + 2p) to ensure continuality with the way I exit all my other games. Is that th way people have set it up?

My mistake, I left the CD in the drive without realising and jumped to conclusions. It does do a CD check.

I have now put the image into a virtual CD program (Paragon V3 which came free with a magazine a while back), and this works.
