GP-Wiz and DOS (USB DOS questions)
« on: April 04, 2005, 09:57:39 am »
I use DOS for cabs, I know a lot of people think its a backwards way of doing things, but it's always worked for me and I see no point in upgrading to a Windows based system.
Well, maybe I can think of one reason to use Windows - the GP-Wiz 49 way USB  interface. The thought of a joystick that can be switched from 4-way to 8-way from a frontend makes me cream my pants, which is very difficult to explain to the wife.

I have never tried to get anything USB to work from DOS, but I've heard tales (perhaps even legends) that there are DOS drivers out there for USB storage devices and some joypads.

Has anyone out there ever REALLY gotten a USB joypad to work in DOS, and do you think there is a way of getting the GP-Wiz going in DOS?

I've seen the drivers, heck I even downloaded them at one point.  But they were only for the mass storage, not any joystick/pad drivers.

I don't suppose anybody's come up with a DOS solution for the GPWiz49 since this thread was first started.  Anyone?

USB dos support is usually just for keyboards and mouse.  I don't think it supports anything else.
