CAD Status Bar, please help!!
« on: April 03, 2005, 12:36:17 pm »
Ive just installed AutoCAD 2000 on another computer and I cant for the life of me remember how to turn on the status button bar that is normally at the bottom of the screen. Its the one that appears just above the command dialogue box and has grey buttons with GRID ORTHO SNAP OSNAP etc.

Can anyone help???

In ACAD 2004 it sits below the command line. You can right click on this area and a dialog box should come up with a list like this:

Cursor Coordinate Value
-------------------------------
Snap(F9)
Grid(F7)

etc...

The ones that are turned on will have a check mark to the left. If you left click on any of the list, it should toggle them on and off in the  tray.

this is 2004, YMMV

Dave.

Thanks for your reply Dave but that doesnt seem to work. 2000 must be different in that respect to 2004.

This is the area in which the buttons normally sit. They arnt like a tool bar which you can dock.

Those are the choices I get when I right click the dialogue box. I have been through just about every option I can find with still no luck. Ive even tried the help *spit*.

I know it defenitly is possible as I had it set up this way before I reinstalled everything.

Any ideas anyone?

Sorry it didn't work out. I went straight from 14 to 2004, so I never worked with 2000.

Have you looked in tools/options for a toggle? It might be there.

Oh, and ACAD help does truly = *spit*

Dave.

Ha ha, how stoopid do I feel?

After posting a message on a cad forum I found out all I had to do was maximise the window, DOH!!  :-[

You were right dave, it does appear below the dialogue box.

Oh well, at least its sorted now!  :)
