Arcade FX - Need an alternative
« on: November 15, 2002, 08:34:38 am »
I've been using Arcade FX for about 6 months and am totally happy with it. Problem is it hasn't been updated since something like v0.57 and shows no sign of being updated.

I'm desperate to play the new release games so it's time to change...

Question-

What other front end:

Will run on XP
Has user definable catergories (favorites etc)
Has default catergories (so I don't have to set up 3000+ roms)
Is as easy as FX to setup (no coding, just point and click)
Can be used with a CP only (mouse for admin is OK)

It's a shame really as I love FX and it does what I want it to and it looks great, just no updates - I'm not moaning, I understand the author has other things to do.

Thanks

did he not release a non protected version of the database...if so you could populate it probably with sortinfo as that was what ed used himself...

a good alternative is lazarus...you can make it look like arcade fx if you want...but except for a bit more work setting it up you can do all the things you wanted with lazarus
