Video amp required on Betson CGA monitor?
« on: March 30, 2005, 05:22:08 pm »

Hey all...

I recently picked up a new 19" Betson CGA monitor (44-4019-02) and was wondring if a video amp was necessary--will the monitor work with the 1 volt signal of the ArcadeVGA card I'm using?

Checking on the specs, I noticed the video signal was "1v_5v PP".? Anyone have any clarification on this?

Thanks...

Video amp NOT required on Betson CGA monitor?
« Reply #1 on: April 02, 2005, 12:21:20 pm »
For future reference, a video amp is not needed with a Betson (Kortek) CGA monitor. ?Fired this up last night and the picture is...spectacular.

In case anyone is deciding between an arcade monitor and TV with S-video, the area I noticed the most difference between the two (aside from the games were output in their native resolution) was the color purity. ?While old video card--ATI 9200 series-- produced a very good (and perfectly playable) NTSC picture, the difference is noticable when compared side-by-side. ?I'm happy with the upgrade...

Cheers again to Ultimarc for a great product in ArcadeVGA.

(The color balance is off on the picture below only because of the digital camera)
