problem : PC given to me . motherboard boots to a password.
no one know said password.
I can not even format the drive.
will taking out the battery for like a month help?
or is this motherboard as good as toast?
I am google'n now for the fix. I am thinking shorting out the cmos as soon as i find it.
thought I would ask here as I search.

Usually you have to remove the battery for a few seconds, then short the CMOS, then reset the CMOS (leaving the jumper in short position will cause damage) and then it should be good again.
