Hello,
I'm trying to use Screaming's MAMEWAH config to configure MAMEWAH on my arcade cab. It looks like a neat program but I cannot get it to create a game list correctly. FYI, the program can be found here.
http://mamewah.mameworld.net/links.htmI have the newest version of MAMEWAH, MAME, Arcade VGA, CLRmame, etc.
I get to the section where it generates the program list and it defaults on the method of creating a gamelist using a .dat file and some other kind of file (I'm at work now so I can't remember the details.) When I try and do this it gives me an error saying 0 games found. There is another option to create the game list using only the other kind of file. When I do this, it created the list but the names are all done by filename and not the game name. For example, Street Fighter Alpha 3 will appear as SFA3 in Mamewah. Also, the artwork is not appearing in MAMEWAH even though I told Screaming's MAMEWAH config where to find it in my C:\mame folder.
I know that CLRmame creates .dat files, so I installed CLRmame and created a .dat file using MAME. It generated a .dat file and says I have sets missing because my mame set isn't up to date (it's only at .89 but that shouldn't matter, right?). I point the Screaming MAMEWAH config to my newely created .dat file and it still doesn't work, same error.
My question is, how do I get a mame.dat file and how do I get it to generate the list correctly in MAMEWAH using Screaming's MAMEWAH config?
