Simple artwork help
« on: March 30, 2005, 12:26:00 pm »
I'm looking to put a logo on the headstock of my bass guitar but the fonts I have acess to all suck. and I suck at graphic design anyways.

I need something under 7/8" high and shorter than 2"
heres what I was thinking only with a bolder more scripted  font

the
Green Meanie

and I am hoping to get it in a Mother of pearl color

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here's Cotillion.  Don't know if it's what you had in mind, but I imagine it  would look good for a headstock label.

As far as mother of pearl does, maybe you know where to get it, but that would require some kind of adhesive vinyl/plastic stripe tape and the ability to cut the graphics into it.  Don't know where you'd get that done.  What color is your headstock?

Its green and black, mainly green where the sticker would be going.

Its the emerald dyed top/ black back on this page
http://www.warmoth.com/paint/paint.cfm?fuseaction=dyed

the headstock is the "warmoth head" on this page
http://www.warmoth.com/bass/necks/necks.cfm?fuseaction=include_13angled

What does the italic version of that look like?

I don't know if there's a 'true' italic of this font, but here's a more slanted/skewed version:

I found a font online that I think would look pretty good for this I was wondering if anyone would have the font Banshee that they could show me what it would look like for this. I don't want to pay $ for the font if it won't work ahead of time. thank you.

Try here. http://www.fonts.com/FindFonts/search.htm

This is where I get all my fonts from. There are literally thousands to chose from, so there must be something you like.
Signature tags are dumb.

Thats actually where I found the banshee font. $22 seems like too much for something I will only use once. If it was $5 I wouldn't mind but thats friggen expensive.

Although I havent ever looked for fonts online before. Is this normally what they cost? Cuz' I'm not finding it any cheaper.

I dont understand why you're paying anything. I dont have an account and I just dl'd the fonts for free without a hitch.
