That's a very, very pretty one... that coin return slot is almost sexual.

If anyone is ever considering buying one of these, think about a Space War instead, same basic game, but better, MUCH CHEAPER and with a larger monitor as well.

Computer Space is the kind of game owned by the guys who have a $50,000 collection that they NEVER play.

On the plus side for it though, it is one of those games that is ALWAYS nice. Most of them didn't see a lot of location time, and I have only ever heard of one of them being converted.

Acceptance of Zen philosophy is marred slightly by the nagging thought that if all things are interconnected, then all things must be in some way involved with Pauly Shore.

Paige, are you really suggesting people buy that big ugly Space War instead of the cool fiberglass Computer Space? Don't you realize the cabinet is part of it's kitsch appeal?

Well, if you want to buy a game to LOOK AT then buy computer space, if you want one to PLAY then buy Space War. The Vectorbeam version of Space War is actually in a pretty spiffy cabinet, unlike the boring fridge cab that the Cinematronics version is in.

Dang, there's one on craigslist Seattle right now for $1,000.  It's the same 2 player green.  Too bad I don't have the money.

And also, with something like Computer Space I would be pretty darn concerned with the long term value of the thing. The game is A LOT more common than people realize, it appears that most of them survived to modern times. Right now the value is high because there are more guys out there with high end collections than there are Computer Space units to go around. But the number of guys with high dollar collections is shrinking. I would be very hesistant to invest $2000 in a game like that (which won't REALLY get played), knowing that it is very likely going to plummet in value later.

At any given time there is a Computer Space on ebay. There are probably 10 or 20 of the suckers available from various online vendors right now, and I have seen A LOT of people's personal websites with pictures of their own machines. And for every one online there are probably 10 that aren't. Once the demand goes down the price will plummet, just like it did with Ms. Pac.

Yeah, I'd LOVE to have a Computer Space, just for the looks and historical value, but I wouldn't pay more than a few hundred.
