Speed comparison, mame.92 vs mame.94?

I was thinking of upgrading from 92 to 94 but before I did I wanted to get some feedback on how much the soundcore changes affected the speed of mame.  Is it very noticeable?  Also, I was wondering if the soundcore changes broke any games that previously worked?

I can't answer your specific questions, but it is hard to notice any overall speed changes between 2 versions that close, as some games will be slower, a few will be faster, and many will remain unchanged.
Acceptance of Zen philosophy is marred slightly by the nagging thought that if all things are interconnected, then all things must be in some way involved with Pauly Shore.

Perhaps not in this case.  The sound core recently underwent a MAJOR revision.  Aaron Giles pretty much just took the old one out, and replaced it with a much 'simpler' system.  Simpler in terms of how it interacts with the rest of the programming, that is.  He says it's supposed to actually slow things down a bit.  How much is subjective, and I don't know of anyone that's actually done any testing.
