dvd player question
« on: March 19, 2005, 06:34:07 am »
I was thinking of getting a dvd player that held five dvds....

my question is this:

if i was to put dvds of different television shows in each of the five places is there a way to make it play random where it would show one whole episode then switch to another dvd to play a different episode?

Mine broke VERY quickly, but there was an option for it on mine.  It played CD's as well, though, so I always figured it was for that purpose only....I didn't have any episodic TV shows at the time either, so I never thought to even give it a whirl.

Does the player you're looking at have a button for it on the remote or something?  That should tell you whether or not it might even be possible.

No, you can't random play episodes from dvds. If you were to rip the episodes to a computer, you could random play them off a playlist though.

I havn't really started looking in the stores yet just hoping someone would know if it was possible before I started looking.....

There you go....and if you set up an HTPC, you could even play it on your TV.

Workaround found, problem solved.

NEXT!?!?
