mamewah crashes

help! When I start up mamewah it says it has an eternal error and shuts down. I am using the current build of 1.61 and mame .94. I haven't done anything to the directories because I can't get it to do anything but crash on start up. It says mamewah has generated internal errors and will shut down in so many seconds. Any body have any ideas, I've looked at most of the forums but I don't see anything close to the errors I am having.
