Right...because of the 4 day Easter break, I've managed to get a start on the cabinet...at last!
The plans have changed somewhat since I first posted this announcement.
The dimensions have changed...the cabinet will be 24" deep, 20" wide, and 26" tall.
I will also be making a small pedestal base for this to sit on...about 36" tall, 18" wide, and 22" deep (approx.) This will house the subwoofer, a rear access Happ blank door, a front mounted Happ false coin door, and the Shuttle-style PC (mounted behind the false coin door...), along with the powerstrip etc.
The entire cabinet will be covered in Parts Express Black Textured Vinyl...I also have a Midway black kickplate to place at the base of the pedestal to prevent scuffs from feet, and a couple of Midway speaker grills to assist in creating airflow in the pedestal base to prevent the PC overheating...
The bezel will be created by black posterboard covered in the textured black vinyl...a Happ 19" bezel will not fit the flat LCD monitor.
Smooth black T-moulding will be used to contrast with the textured vinyl...I do have leather textured T-moulding...but I think this will blend in with the textured vinyl...I will try it beforehand though to see which will be best.
I've cut the side panels and the base, and applied the wooden batten bracing to the side panels...I will post some pictures tomorrow...
