Betson Multisynch not available
« on: March 11, 2005, 12:12:34 am »
I contacted the Portland, OR rep for Betson today and apparently they are out of the 27" Multisynch monitors nationwide.  He says they have been on order for some time and he heard rumors that they were waiting for more tubes to be imported.

Hopes to have some in within the next two weeks.

He quoted me shipping costs of $16 from Portland to Seattle for a 75 pounds.  Seems very cheap compared to what some others charge for shipping.

Hopefully this new batch will have solved the problem that Retroblast identified.

I was considering driving 200 miles to go pick it up to save on shipping.  Asked him how much it would be and he quoted me $16.  No way I can pay for gas at that rate.

I'm supposed to call the guy back in ten days to get an updated status.  Will post what I hear.

Called Betson in Portland, OR and they still don't have any in and aren't sure when they will.  Supposed to call back in a couple weeks.

I thought I would call their HQ in NJ and see if they knew when they would be getting them in.  Several of their other offices have Betson Multisynch in stock.  So I ordered one from CA and they will ship it today.  The shipping will be about $50 more but there was no indication when one would show up in Portland.

Of course with my normal luck it will be about the time I receive my shipment.

I got one at Betson's Dallas office 5 weeks ago.  I had been waiting 3 weeks for it to come on a boat from Asia.  Just keep checking with them each week.

I've been waiting for two months now.  Rob Lapinski is saying that Betson Pittsburgh is getting a shipment of Multisync monitors Thu. April 7th (3 days!).  Finally...

If things work, and my arcadeVGA clicks.  My cab project can continue forward again.

I received my monitor last Friday.  Still haven't heard anything from Portland.  I guess it really depends on which office you are working with.

Hey there, Im a long time listener, first time caller.....

Anywhoo, I called Betwon West, in L.A. last week and they have had a "whole yitload" in for a bit. I picked one up the same afternoon I called. I don't know how they deal with shipping from different regions, but a few months back they said it wouldn't be any extra to get a monitor from San Fran delivered to L.A. for me to pick up.

Betson Pittsburgh didnt give me that option, they said that if they had to order one for me it would be then come straight to me and the shipping charge would apply.  They didnt say that they would transfer one to them for me to pick up.  That would just cost them money to do that, so I guess not.
If I get mine soon, I'll forgive Betson and Kortek for poor stocking in Pittsburgh (apparently, a lot go out the door here).

Well, San Fran to L.A. isn't too far, although Pittsburg may have to have it shipped farther, by air or freight causing the shipping to be costly. All I know is that this monitor is well worth the wait.
