Someone was having a bad day...
« on: March 10, 2005, 10:37:16 pm »
when they were working on some of the G07 chassis I'm repairing right now. Somoene wired up the voltage regulator backwards on this one and put power to it. I replaced it with a known good regulator and I'm still seeing 150v for the B+ voltage. I have removed x701 and the monitor powers up, and I have replaced C511 and still have 150v B+. What else could have been damaged by the VR being wired backwards? I have looked at the schematics and it looks like potentially x901 or x902 could have gotten toasted.

Any suggestions?

That fuse resistor FR901 is probably open. I have seen both those X9xx transistors go bad. Sometimes you need to sub two known good ones to test.
